LacTec was founded in 1986 by a team of experienced engineers. Most of them are still active with the company today in positions of responsibility.

LacTec counted Mercedes Benz and Audi among its first customers. For this reason, the automotive industry has formed an important customer segment since the inception of the company.

After a short time, the newly developed automatic electrostatic paint systems were also offered in other areas of industry. The company also succeeded in winning numerous customers in these areas with its innovative technology. Over the years, the company's location in Rodgau was expanded. The pace of international activities was accelerated with the founding of subsidiary organizations outside of Germany. Representations have been established in many parts of the world.
